Professor Xue Zhang is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Director of the McKusick-Zhang Center for Genetic Medicine at Peking Union Medical College, and the President of Harbin Medical University. He has discovered the molecular basis of several Mendelian disorders, including the familial acne inversa and the Marie Unna hereditary hypotrichosis. He was appointed as an Associate Editor of Fundamental Research in 2021.
