Special Issue Call for Papers: HIV Modelling in the Universal Treatment Era
We invite you to submit your paper for consideration to the HIV Modelling in the Universal Treatment Era special issue before 31 December 2017.
Ground-breaking HIV prevention methods and treatment strategies have increased the potential for control and perhaps even eradication of HIV. Treatment as prevention, pre-exposure prophylaxis, anti-retroviral drug combinations, curative treatment strategies, novel vaccine trials, field strategies and cost control decisions are being informed by model analyses. Modelling can be used to:

Determine how differences within and between populations affect control strategies

Explore how added model detail and realism could affect the validity of model based policy decisions

Advance analysis methods that integrate data at the molecular, individual, and social levels
-
Improve the use of sequence data
-
Develop methods to estimate system parameters at the individual and population level
-
Guide surveillance data collection and uncover new issues and opportunities using surveillance data

Determine within host viral and immune dynamics and
-
Estimate the impact of vaccine or its combined use with other preventive approaches.
This special issue welcomes submissions on mathematical modelling of HIV. Papers that advance the understanding of HIV transmission control are especially sought. We also encourage submissions that make the code and data used as open as is reasonably possible. Papers should be submitted through the online submission system.
