Special Issue: Molecular, Cellular Engineering and Health

Published 20 November, 2017

We invite you to submit your paper (research articles or reviews) for consideration to the Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology special issue before Augst 31st, 2018.

The field of Molecular and Cellular Engineering has emerged at a stage where many engineers, physicists, chemists, biologists and clinicians are joining forces to solve the fundamental questions in biology, medicine, and public health. Synthetic biology applies interdisciplinary principles to biological systems and has significantly advanced new strategies to solve questions. Synthetic biology-inspired strategies have provided new channels to revolutionize the fields relating to human health including energy, medicine, materials etc.

The main topics of consideration for this special issue include:

  • Engineering of synthetic designer cells for health
  • The principle of circuit design
  • Synthetic biology tools for gene- and cell-based therapy
  • Optogenetics
  • CRISPR-Cas9 tool
  • Synthetic immunotherapy
  • Synthetic circuits for cancer
  • Synthetic biology and natural products
  • Enzyme engineering
  • Biosensors for health
  • Computational modeling for pathway engineering
  • Biochemical engineering
  • New methods in biochemistry, molecular biology, or microbiology for therapeutic purpose
  • Molecular genetic engineering
