Community Engagement Manager

Purpose of the Job:
As Community Engagement Manager you are part of the academic communities we serve. Through listening to authors, editors, reviewers and the research community at large, connecting them with each other and with KeAi, you build a community of researchers who engage with KeAi, our mission and activities. In close collaboration with the publishers and the marketing communications manager, through sharing insights and effective communication via diverse channels, you raise awareness of KeAi and the publishing solutions we offer.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills, has a positive, pro-active attitude and is fluent in both Mandarin and English.     

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Develop and deliver effective community engagement strategies
  • Connect and communicate with various individuals and institutions in academia: authors, editors, reviewers, university leadership, society representatives, etc.
  • Identify and report professional needs and desires in the community
  • Write and effectively distribute news stories, insights and updates for the various stakeholders in the community
  • Develop and execute effective social media strategies
  • Visit relevant research institutions and attend conferences

General Competencies:

  • Technical and Professional Expertise: excellent relationship-building skills at all levels, excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, both English and Mandarin – knowledge of the latest developments in social media
  • Innovative attitude and pro-active nature
  • Teamwork and collaboration: self-starter, can work independently, but collaborates well with colleagues and customers

General Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business and/or marketing (communications)
  • 1 - 2 years’ professional experience; experience in scientific publishing a plus
  • Experience working in an international company
  • Excellent Mandarin and English language skills (written and oral)
