KeAi is a new academic journals publishing joint venture between Elsevier and CSPM. The purpose of KeAi is to provide the publishing support to allow high quality Chinese research and journals to develop to their full potential and reach out to a more international audience.


Purpose of the Job:

The role focuses on the ongoing operation and editorial development of several KeAi owned and operated journals. As KeAi grows a level of flexibility will be required to adjust to business priorities but key areas of responsibility include:
   -           Researching, launching and developing new KeAi owned journals
   -                           Managing the development of a portfolio of between 6-10 journals
   -           Contributing to and developing Information services reports
   -                           Building professional relationships with internal/external contacts                     


Key Result Areas

Main Activities and Responsibilities

  • Portfolio management, Editorial development, Journal liaison:
    • Overseeing the overall management of 6-10 journals, including the development of KeAi owned titles
    • Overseeing and where necessary guiding editorial development of journals owned by other institutions
    • Working with relevant Elsevier/CSPM employees to ensure ongoing smooth running of the portfolio


  • Information services business management
    • Contribute to the development of the Information services business through ongoing research of customer needs and production of tailored reports


  • Network and relationship management & development
    • Build and maintain a strong network of professional contacts both within, and beyond, current Elsevier/CSPM editors, authors and societies
    • Develop a strong connection/affiliation with the scientific and medical community and associated stakeholders such as funding bodies.


  • Content Development:
    • Take overall responsibility for the journal portfolio with emphasis on growth and quality strategy. Managing growth in existing journals and through the researching and launching of new KeAi owned titles

General Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree/PhD in Science field
  • 2-4 years research or professional journals publishing experience
  • Experience of working in an international company
  • Excellent English language skills (written and oral)
