Special Issue on Watershed Water Quality Management and Control

Quality of water is an importance attribute in watershed management. Contaminants with known or unknown health effects, once produced, will find their ways to enter aquatic environments. Their occurrence, fates and behaviors in water environments, and potential impacts have been receiving considerable attention from researchers, practitioners and regulators worldwide. Nonetheless, sustainable management and control strategies for contaminants in water still remain a challenge in today's water industry.

Contamination issues in water have become increasingly important due to rapid population growth, industrialization, urbanization and climate change. This special issue will look into topics such as contaminants monitoring, fate and transport, treatment technologies, source control, policy and management.

We would like to invite authors to submit original research and review articles focused on water quality management and control in watershed.

  • Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Development in analytical methods and devices for contaminant detection
  • Occurrence, fates and behaviours of contaminants in water environment
  • Pollution source control and management
  • Monitoring in watershed, modelling and data analysis
  • Technologies and processes for control and removal of contaminants in watershed
  • Health impact and risk assessment
  • Policy and regulatory development and implementations

Submission Deadline

  • 31 May 2021
  • Please choose “VSI: Water Quality Management” when submitting your papers.
