Published 15 January, 2019

The Synthetic Biology Specialized Committee of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology and KeAi’s Open Access journal Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology have entered into a collaborative partnership to support the development of the field of synthetic biology, both internationally and in China. Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology is now the official affiliate journal of the Committee.

Prof. Chenli Liu, Secretary-General of the Synthetic Biology Specialized Committee comments on the partnership: “I deeply appreciate the help from Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology, the flagship journal in China on synthetic biology. I look forward to our collaboration to promote research on synthetic biology, facilitate cross-disciplinary communications, and lead the development of this emerging discipline”.

Wei Yan, Publisher of Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology adds: “The field of synthetic biology and technology has shown impressive growth in recent years, internationally and in China in particular. It has great potential to tackle a wide variety of challenges the world faces, from environmental applications to agriculture and health, to name just a few. We are very pleased to partner with the Synthetic Biology Specialized Committee and support the sharing of knowledge in this important field”.

The Synthetic Biology Specialized Committee is a branch of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, aiming to promote basic research and related applied research of synthetic biology in China, and to discuss the development and direction of the field of synthetic biology.

Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology was launched in 2016 by KeAi, the Elsevier – CSPM joint venture, as a high quality Open Access journal to promote the communication of original research in synthetic and systems biology, with an emphasis on applications towards biotechnology.

Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology, the official journal of the Synthetic Biology Specialized Committee is globally available, free to read on ScienceDirect. The journal is indexed in Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, PubMed Central and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
