The Journal of interventional Medicine publishes rigorously peer-reviewed, high-quality original articles and authoritative reviews that focus on developments and advances in interventional medicine. This journal is a publication for current developments, recent study results, and state-of-the-art techniques and technologies in the field of interventional medicine, aiming to encourage the translation of research findings into clinical practice and to promote practical applications of research results in the field of interventional medicine.

Founded on March 30, 1999, Shanghai Journal of Interventional Radiology Press is mainly engaged in publishing interventional journals and undertaking professional magazine advertising. In addition, it focuses on academic communication, technical consultation etc.
Journal of Interventional Radiology, published by the Shanghai Journal of Interventional Radiology Press, has been included in the China Science and Technology Paper Statistical Source Journal (China Science and Technology Core Journals) in 2002. The journal was indexed by A Guide to the Core Journals of China in 2008 and is now indexed by numerous international databases. It became the source of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) in 2009. In 2020, it was selected into the 5th Outstanding S&T Journals of China and World Journal Impact Index (WJCI) and became the top academic journal in the field of interventional medicine in China.
While the Journal of Interventional Radiology continues to improve, the English journal, Journal of Interventional Medicine was launched in 2018. The journal is supervised by Tongji University, sponsored by Tongji University Press, and co-published by KeAi publishing company. All published papers are available in ScienceDirect from Elsevier. Journal of Interventional Medicine was indexed by DOAJ in 2020 and by Scopus and PubMed Central in 2021, which has increased international recognition in interventional radiology field.
While operating excellent interventional journals, the press also conducts academic communication and holds academic workshops every year. With the aim to promote and popularize interventional medicine across China, it has held 20 sessions of "Precision Medicine, IR Priority" and 16 sessions of "China long quality march for IR ". Since 2000, it has insisted on the annual selection of Excellent Interventional Paper Awards, which has made significant contributions to promote the development of interventional medicine in China.
