New trends and recent developments in digitalization for a green transition in economics and finance

Introduction:

With the rising environmental risks and the current economic uncertainty caused by high inflation and the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus for global economic transformation has gradually shifted to the green transition and digitalization in recent years. This evolution has become highly prominent in all areas of economic and financial systems. Digital transformation, digital technologies, digital finance, green development, green investment, green innovation, and other themes increasingly emerge in the context of the information technology age and sustainable development. However, finding ways to effectively increase environmental sustainability and achieve carbon neutrality targets remains a challenge. This special issue is devoted to articles that investigate, in a novel way, any issue related to new trends and recent developments in digitalization for a green transition in economics and finance.
