Virtual special issue on Advanced Technologies for Resilient Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT)

Published 15 September, 2022

Position Navigation and Time (PNT) has been the fundamental information for various infrastructures and systems. Currently, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) as the primary PNT source provide PNT information for all uses around the world. Unfortunately, GNSS has inevitable flaws that its signal is fragile. PNT from GNSS is not always reliable under some conditions, i.e., interference, spoofing, urban canyon, tunnels. Resilient Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) everywhere and anywhere has been the hot research topic. Different approaches for Resilient Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) have been developed. One solution is to develop advanced technologies to enhance the GNSS, i.e., anti-spoofing. anti-interference, multipath mitigation. Another solution is to develop multi-sensor integration system, i.e., all-source navigation, Micro-PNT, adaptive navigation.

The goal of the VSI is on resilient Position, Navigation and Time technology.
