Mothers-to-be who follow a high-salt diet put their children’s future health at risk

A maternal high-salt diet during pregnancy not only results in hypertension and cardiovascular conditions in the mother, but can also negatively affect the cardiovascular development of the fetus, increasing the offspring’s risk of developing high blood pressure, cardiac structure impairments and a variety of diseases.
