Oxidative stress, inflammation and DNA repair in age-related neurodegenerative disorders

Published 05 August, 2022

Introduction:

Ageing is often associated with an increased prevalence of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, neither of which have effective treatments available. Oxidative stress and inflammation have been widely studied and share some common pathways contributing to neurodegeneration. This special issue presents original research articles, comprehensive reviews and potential new therapeutic strategies in these areas.

Topics covered:

  • Oxidative stress in neurodegenerative disorders
  • Chronic inflammation in neurodegenerative disorders
  • Recent developments in the role of DNA repair, ageing and neuronal apoptosis in Alzheimer’s disease
  • Natural compounds for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders

Important deadlines:

  • Submission deadline: 30 June 2023

Submission instructions:

Please read the Guide for Authors before submitting. All articles should be submitted online; please select Oxidative stress, inflammation and DNA repair in age-related neurodegenerative disorders on submission.
