Professor Fa-Hu Chen is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Director of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a physical geographer, a paleoclimatologist, and an expert in the field of environmental archaeology. He has made important contributions to the understanding of long-term climate changes in Arid Central Asia and in monsoonal Asia, as well as the timing and process of human occupation of the Tibetan Plateau. He was appointed as an Associate Editor of Fundamental Research in 2021.
