Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain for Smart Intelligence Networks

Published 18 December, 2020

These days, artificial intelligence (AI) plays an essential role in all fields of research, and it is helping to solve the critical issues involved in sustainable manufacturing (e.g., logistics, optimisation of energy resources and supply chain management). In this context, there is a trend in smart production to incorporate AI into green production processes for stricter environmental policies. AI technologies can also help with decision-making, recognising consumer segments, producing a diagnosis, detecting causes and effects, and avoiding unexpected circumstances.

Blockchain has emerged as a rugged and rapidly-growing research area due to its immutability, security and privacy benefits. As a revolutionary technology, blockchain combines distributed data storage, consensus mechanisms, point-to-point transmission and encryption algorithms to record data and transactions efficiently.

The combination of these two systems can further enhance the performance of smart intelligence networks, enabling secure network orchestration, intelligent resource management and adaptable networking.
