Introduction: Dr Lewan Parker is a joint NHMRC & National Heart Foundation Early Career Fellow and leader of the Redox Regulation of Health and Disease research group at Deakin University's Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Dr Parker's research program combines clinical, applied, and mechanistic research to explore how physical activity, redox biology, bone metabolism, and vascular health, regulate glycaemic control, exercise capacity, and cardiometabolic health and disease. Through innovative research design, his research continues to explore new ways to harness exercise and nutrition for the prevention, management, and treatment of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The impact of his research program has been formally recognised through several accolades including the James Cook University Early Career Alumni Award (2022), Journal of Physiology (UK) Editorial Board Fellowship (2022), and the Exercise and Sports Science Australia Early Career Researcher Award (2018).
