Introduction: Dr. Zhang Li is currently a full professor in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Institute of CNS Regeneration (GHMICR), Jinan University. After obtaining his BSc degree (1st class honor) and PhD degree from School of Biological Sciences, University of Hong Kong, he joined GHMICR in July 2014. His group focuses on the peripheral-central mechanism in modulating mental and cognitive functions. In particular, he focuses on the effect of physical exercise on neural network plasticity, via modulating peripheral production of exerkines. Since 2019, he has published 27 peer-reviewed research articles, including Science Advances, Molecular Psychiatry, Current Biology, Cell Reports and Advanced Science. He has received research fundings from National Key Research and Development Program, NSFC, and provincial major projects.
