Introduction: Morten B. Randers is an applied exercise physiologist who serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics. His academic journey began with the completion of his PhD in 2011, wherein he concentrated his efforts on the multifaceted health implications of recreational football. Since then, Morten has continually broadened the scope of his research, encompassing an array of age groups, patient populations, and other team sports.
One of Morten's principal research interests lies in the optimization of elite team sport athletes' performance. In this pursuit, he uses cutting-edge technologies to quantify and gain a profound understanding of the physical demands placed upon athletes. This work has also broad him to a position as Professor II from 2019 to 2022 at the Female Football Research Centre, University of Tromsø, Norway.
Morten's research approach is as multifaceted as the sports he studies. His expertise covers a wide range of methodologies, from muscle analysis to whole-body measurements, which he employs in studies encompassing long-term randomized controlled intervention studies as well as intricate descriptive movement analyses. By employing diverse toolkits, he seeks to understand the interplay between athletic loads, acute responses, and long-term outcomes.
