Introduction: Pablo Vald és-Badilla, is a Teacher of Physical Education, Master in Teaching and Pedagogical Innovation for Higher Education and PhD in Physical Activity Sciences. He currently works as an Academic-Researcher of the Department of Physical Activity Sciences at the Universidad Catolica del Maule, Talca, Chile and as director of the PhD in Physical Activity Sciences of the same University. His main lines of research are active aging and martial arts and combat sports (MA&CS), with more than 150 indexed publications on these topics. In addition, he is the responsible research of an FONDECYT (code: 11220035) project in which these research interests converge. In relation to the MA&CS, he was Assistant National Coach of the Chilean taekwondo team in the period 2008 - 2011 and holds 5th dan in the specialty.
