Special Issue on Smart, Hybrid Electric Vehicles in Intelligent Networks

Published 18 December, 2020

Smart hybrid electric vehicles (SHEVs) are one of the most revolutionary notions in the automobile industry. Use of these hybrid vehicles can reduce the impact of global warming caused by extreme use of traditional fossil fuels. In SHEVs, power is generated via two sources: the internal combustion engine and the battery. These dual sources increase the energy efficiency of the vehicle and the electric motor helps to reduce the size of the fuel engine.

This special issue aims to present the most recent SHEV  research and review papers in the important area.

Topics Covered:

  • Automotive electronics and automatic control
  • Connected vehicles and infotainment systems
  • Intelligent transportation systems
  • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure planning
  • Intelligent vehicles, routings and protocols
  • Energy resource management in relation to electric vehicles
  • Design and simulations on automation and control systems for electrical transportation
  • Electric vehicle driving pattern analysis and prediction
  • Smart roads
  • Vehicle routing algorithms
  • EVT and E-CVT for EVs, HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles) and PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles)
  • Vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communications
  • Environmental and socio-economical aspects of electromobility (LCA, TCO)

Important Deadlines:

  • Submission deadline: 30 March 2021
  • Publication date: 30 September 2021

Submission Instructions:

Please read the Guide for Authors before submitting. All articles should be submitted online, please select VSI: Hybrid Electric Vehicle on submission.
