Introducing a new short format, rapid-review research article type - TMA Express!

What is a TMA Express article?

TMA Express is a short format, rapid-review research article that reports on novel findings of high interest in basic or translational aging research. In some cases, a timely scientific perspective on a topical issue of controversy or exceptional interest to the geroscience community could be appropriate for TMA Express.

TMA Express guidance

  • Articles do not exceed 1,500 words.
  • Typically require a single figure or table and, at most, contain two display items.
  • In place of an abstract, TMA Express articles will instead begin with a brief (2-3 sentence) paragraph summarizing the take-home message of the article.
  • The body of TMA Express articles will not have separate sections for Introduction, Results, and Discussion.
  • Detailed methods may be provided as Supplemental Information (SI), but no additional data may be included in SI.
  • Manuscripts submitted as TMA Express that do not meet these criteria will be returned to authors.

TMA Express articles will typically be reviewed with decisions made available in no more than two weeks.
