Journal of Magnesium and Alloys

The Journal of Magnesium and Alloys provides an international medium for the publication of theoretical and experimental studies in magnesium science and engineering. Appropriate submissions to the Journal of Magnesium and Alloys include studies that investigate scientific and/or engineering factors that affect the metallurgy, processing, microstructure, properties, and applications of magnesium and alloys and reports that contribute to the body of knowledge by documenting the thinking, philosophy, and strategies of magnesium science and engineering.

The Journal of Magnesium and Alloys covers all aspects of magnesium and alloys and their manufacture, including raw materials, alloy casting, extrusion and deformation, corrosion and surface treatment, joining and machining, simulation and modeling, microstructure evolution and mechanical properties, new alloy development, magnesium-based composites, bio-materials and energy materials, applications, and recycling.

Journal Metrics
CiteScore: 10.3
2020: 10.3
CiteScore measures the average citations received per peer-reviewed document published in this title. CiteScore values are based on citation counts in a range of four years (e.g. 2017-2020) to peer-reviewed documents (articles, reviews, conference papers, data papers and book chapters) published in the same four calendar years, divided by the number of these documents in these same four years (e.g. 2017–2020).
Journal Citation Reports (Scopus, 2021)
Impact Factor: 10.088
Impact Factor:
2020: 10.088
The Impact Factor measures the average number of citations received in a particular year by papers published in the journal during the two preceding years.
Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics, 2020)
5-Year Impact Factor: 8.482
Five-Year Impact Factor:
2020: 8.482
To calculate the five year Impact Factor, citations are counted in 2020 to the previous five years and divided by the source items published in the previous five years.
Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics, 2020)
Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP): 3.825
Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP):
2019: 3.825
SNIP measures contextual citation impact by weighting citations based on the total number of citations in a subject field.
SCImago Journal Rank (SJR): 2.126
SCImago Journal Rank (SJR):
2019: 2.126
SJR is a prestige metric based on the idea that not all citations are the same. SJR uses a similar algorithm as the Google page rank; it provides a quantitative and a qualitative measure of the journal’s impact.
