Materials Science for Energy Technologies is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes high-quality research on the development and application of novel materials for energy-related applications. The journal provides a platform for researchers from diverse disciplines to present and discuss their latest findings on the design, synthesis and characterization, as well as application of advanced materials for energy storage, conversion and generation.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Synthesis, characterization, and optimization of materials for energy applications
  • Materials for triboelectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, and other nanogenerators
  • Ferroelectric photovoltaic, thermoelectric materials and devices
  • Self-powered sensors and photodetectors
  • Materials for fuel cells, batteries, supercapacitors, and other energy storage devices
  • Novel materials and architectures for solar energy conversion
  • Materials for hydrogen production including catalysts, membranes, and electrodes
  • Materials for energy-efficient lighting and displays, including OLEDs and other optoelectronic devices
  • Materials for environmental remediation and waste-to-energy conversion, including photocatalysts, piezo-catalysis, pyro-catalysis and nanomaterials
  • Theoretical and computational materials science for energy applications

The journal welcomes original research articles, reviews and perspectives that advance our understanding of the role of materials science in the development of sustainable and renewable energy technologies. We encourage interdisciplinary research that bridges materials science with other fields such as physics, chemistry, engineering, and environmental science.
