About the Role
We are looking for a data analyst overseeing a portfolio of 200+ academic journals. The candidate needs to be collaborative and analytical, who is meticulous in their fact-checking, has a strong sense of natural justice and has excellent communication skills. You will coordinate with editors and publishers to build reports, conduct data analysis using existing internal data and data from various journal databases, and make actionable recommendations (including recommendations for research integrity issues) that impact the development of journals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze journals’ data to prepare them for submitting indexing applications
- Liaise with editors and publishers to ensure coordination and implementation of best practices
- Maintain key reports, dashboards and analyses using Excel and other reporting and visualisation tools
- Supporting the creation of indexation training and research integrity training materials and conduct trainings for editors and other users
- Fulfil ad-hoc analysis and requests
- Assessment of activities conducted by authors, reviewers, editors, guest editors, and other relevant parties, as identified by KeAi's ethics experts, KeAi Publishers, etc.
- Supporting publishers and editors in assessing allegations including plagiarism, duplication, authorship disputes, peer review manipulation, and figure manipulation/duplication
- Raising awareness and knowledge levels of ethical policies and procedures
- Be responsible for supporting the company's other work related to data analysis and strategy support.
Requirements
- BA/BS required with a strong analytical/quantitative background or equivalent experience (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science etc.)
- A minimum of two years' relevant experience in data analysis or publishing, can use English as the main working language
- Knowledge of peer-review and the publishing process, and COPE best practices
- Excellent communications skills
- Strong analytical, creative, and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work methodically, problem-solving and fact-checking
- Ability to learn and apply new systems, AI tools, methodologies, and practices to improve day-to-day work
- Well organised and accurate with good time management
- Statistics, data science or coding experience is beneficial but not essential
