#AI reads Urine# Polarization-Enhanced Janus MoSSe Plasmonic Biosensor for Accurate Diabetic Nephropathy Diagnosis
Published 26 August, 2025
This document studies a polarization-enhanced Janus MoSSe plasmonic biosensor for accurate diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy. It points out that the accurate diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy relies on the ultrasensitive detection of specific biomarkers, while existing methods have limitations such as low sensitivity and time-consuming procedures. To this end, researchers synthesized Janus MoSSe monolayers with spontaneous out-of-plane polarization via chemical vapor deposition through a heterogeneous engineering strategy. This material can enhance charge sensitivity and improve plasmonic biosensing performance, with a detection limit as low as 10⁻¹⁵ g/L for key biomarkers of diabetic nephropathy, far exceeding traditional methods such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Meanwhile, this biosensor can successfully detect a variety of related biomarkers in clinical urine samples, enabling accurate stage-specific diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy. It not only expands the application of Janus transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers but also provides a promising platform for the clinical diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy🔶.
