Special Issue on Foundation for Initial Exploration of Chinese Brain&Mind Trajectories

Published 09 June, 2026

Scope:

The articles in this special issue explore brain and mind development in Chinese populations. We invite contributions that advance description, mechanism, or action: mapping brain–mind trajectories in early childhood; disentangling biological–environmental interactions; or translating developmental principles into practice.

We particularly welcome work bridging disciplinary boundaries. This may include the use of emerging technologies and novel methodologies to address critical challenges in trajectory research; approaches that overcome barriers related to data privacy, heterogeneous standards, and secure cross-center integration; or studies that connect research and practice in both directions, where science informs clinical and educational action, and frontline needs shape research priorities.

Through this special issue, we aim to present the most up-to-date groundwork for mapping brain and mind trajectories in Chinese populations.
