Climate change poses a severe challenge to global sustainable socio-economic development and the very survival of humanity. Advancing carbon neutrality and accelerating the large-scale deployment of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology have gained broad consensus across the international community. To deepen international exchanges and cooperation on CCUS and empower the development of the global CCUS industry, the International Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Technology Innovation & Cooperation Organization (ICTO) was founded in Beijing, China.
ICTO was initiated by China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) together with 60 domestic and international institutions and leading industry experts. Founding partners include the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, China Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd., China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, BASF, KazMunayGas, and Baker Hughes.
As an international organization dedicated to CCUS technological development and cooperation, ICTO is committed to deep engagement in the global climate governance system. Focusing on CCUS technological innovation and international cooperation, it unites leading enterprises, academic and research institutions, and top experts from around the world to build a world-class platform for international technological dialogue and collaboration. By promoting knowledge sharing, technological innovation, and coordinated industrial development across the CCUS sector, ICTO strives to contribute to the building of a low-carbon and sustainable future for all.
