As the only official journal of CMES for international communication, CJME has been one of the top journals in Mechanical Engineering in China, aiming to become a world-class one. On behalf of CMES, CJME serves for international communication among over 80 international societies/institutions, such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM).

The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES) was founded in 1936, aiming to “connecting with mechanical engineering colleagues, facilitating the research and promoting development of mechanical engineering”.
As a non-for-profit professional organization that has made important contributions to the development of mechanical engineering in China, CMES serves this wide-ranging technical community through high-quality programs in conferences and publications, education and accreditation, research, prize and awards, consultation, exhibitions and various forms of outreach.
CMES has 12 working committees, 43 professional institutions, and provides guidance to 32 provincial and municipal societies. On behalf of China, CMES has joined 11 international organizations. 36 sci-tech periodicals are in the charge and supervision of CMES.
CMES has been gathering talents of science and technology, with strong resources and wide range of business. The development of the society has been supported and recognized by the government and all walks of life. It has been appraised by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as the national social organization of 5A level. It has been appraised by the China Association for Science and Technology as the first class excellent science and technology society for the project of society innovation and service ability promotion.
