Key Technologies in Vehicle-Road-Cloud Cooperative System
Published 13 August, 2025
Vehicle-road-cloud collaboration is a cornerstone in the future of automotive transportation. It plays a key role in addressing critical challenges such as traffic safety, congestion, and pollution. In China, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Science and Technology launched several key research and development programs in the fields of 'new energy vehicles' and 'integrated transportation and intelligent traffic' to support progress in vehicle-road-cloud collaborative technology. These efforts aim to achieve breakthroughs in the theoretical foundations, scenario development, equipment innovation, testing systems, and standards of vehicle-road-cloud collaboration. The technology is rapidly advancing from the research phase to integrated testing and engineering applications.
In recent years, the country has seen advances in the research and testing of intelligent connected vehicles, core algorithms for autonomous driving, simulation and evaluation of vehicle-road-cloud integrated systems, and the development of key equipment for these systems, contributing greatly to global advancements in these fields. To provide an up-to-date overview of the latest research in vehicle-road-cloud collaboration and drive theoretical innovation and technological advancements in this field, CJME will publish a special issue on key technologies in vehicle-road-cloud cooperative systems.
The topics of the special column include (but are not limited to):
- Application of artificial intelligence technology in vehicle-road-cloud collaboration
- Key technologies of environmental perception, high-precision positioning, fusion decision-making, and advanced control in vehicle-road-cloud integrated systems
- Theory and methods for testing and evaluation of vehicle-road-cloud integrated systems
- Theory and methods for constructing testing scenarios in vehicle-road-cloud collaboration
- Theory and methods for constructing closed/semi-open testing environments in vehicle-road-cloud collaboration
- Application of C-V2X communication technology in vehicle-road-cloud integrated systems
- Functional safety and information security in vehicle-road-cloud integrated systems
