Cytokinology is an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing fundamental and translational research on cytokines, chemokines, and related growth factors across biological, medical, and pharmacological disciplines. The journal aims to publish high-quality original research and reviews that elucidate the molecular mechanisms, regulatory networks, and functional roles of cytokine signaling in development, physiological homeostasis, and disease pathogenesis. Research areas include immunity and inflammation, cancer, metabolism, aging, and tissue repair and regeneration, with studies addressing how spatiotemporal signaling and intercellular communication shape cellular responses and tissue microenvironments. It bridges immunology, molecular biology, oncology, metabolic research, aging biology, and regenerative medicine with pharmacology and clinical research, fostering global academic exchanges and accelerating the transformation of cytokine-targeted basic findings into diagnostic biomarkers, therapeutic strategies, and clinical applications. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies covering in vitro, in vivo, and clinical cohort research, encouraging innovative discoveries in cytokine regulation, tissue repair, healthy aging, drug intervention, and disease immunomodulation.
The primary research topics include:
Molecular mechanisms of cytokine and chemokine signaling, gene regulation, and protein interaction networks
Cytokine-mediated immune regulation, inflammation, immune tolerance, and communication among immune, stromal, vascular, and parenchymal cells within tissue microenvironments
Cytokine dysregulation in autoimmune diseases, cancer, infections, and chronic inflammatory disorders, including its diagnostic and therapeutic implications
Roles of cytokines and growth factors in cellular senescence, inflammaging, age-related diseases, and metabolic homeostasis, as well as cell function, tissue repair, angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and regeneration
Pharmacological modulation of cytokine pathways, novel cytokine-targeted drugs, and natural active ingredient-based immunoregulatory research, including engineered biologics and targeted delivery strategies for immunomodulation, tissue regeneration, and age-related diseases
Translational research on cytokine biomarkers for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic efficacy evaluation
Innovative detection technologies and analytical methods for cytokine profiling and immune microenvironment assessment, including approaches to characterize signaling dynamics during aging and regeneration
