Call for Editorial Board Renewal and Recruitment

The term of the first Editorial Board of Environmental Surfaces and Interfaces is coming to an end. Thanks to the collective efforts of all Editorial Board members, the journal has achieved steady development and sustained growth in published content. We sincerely appreciate every expert's valuable contribution over the past term.
To support the journal's next-stage development and to recruit distinguished scholars globally, we hereby initiate the official Editorial Board renewal and open recruitment across the world. We invite dedicated academic experts to apply and join us in building a top-tier academic platform focusing on environmental surface and interface research.
Eligibility
- Adhere to academic integrity, conduct academic research with rigor and integrity, have no record of academic research misconduct, be enthusiastic about journal publishing, and be willing to contribute to the development of the journal.
- Hold a doctoral degree and an associate professorship or equivalent senior academic rank.
- Possess proven expertise in peer review, manuscript solicitation and special issue coordination, and commit to fulfilling board responsibilities and participating in journal-related academic initiatives routinely.
- Maintain active engagement within the core research community of environmental surfaces and interfaces.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience leading externally funded research programs. Priority will be given to scholars who are active in global academic engagement and who support the journal's internationalization strategy. Exceptional early-career researchers with outstanding academic achievements are welcome to apply for the Early Career Editorial Board.
Responsibilities
All Editorial Board Members serve a two‑year term under a regular performance review framework. Board members shall submit a concise work report upon term-end. Outstanding performers will be eligible for reappointment or advancement to Associate Editors. Editorial Board Members shall actively fulfill core duties. Evaluation criteria include, but are not limited to:
1. Submission/Invitation
Submit a high-quality original article as the first or corresponding author, or invite outstanding researchers worldwide to contribute to the journal.
2. Special Issue Management
Lead the organization of special issues focused on frontier or hot topics in the field of environmental surfaces and interfaces, while taking responsibility for manuscript solicitation and peer review arrangements.
3. Peer Review
Complete assigned peer reviews punctually with objective and thorough evaluation comments to help streamline the manuscript turnaround process.
4. Journal Promotion
Promote the journal at least twice per year via academic conferences, research collaborations, and social media platforms to improve the journal's global academic visibility.
5. Annual Meetings & Academic Events
Attend the annual Editorial Board meeting as required and organize at least one thematic seminar or mini academic activity each year.
6. Journal Development
Track disciplinary frontiers and provide constructive suggestions regarding the journal's long-term development strategy.
