Recruitment of Early Career Editorial Board Members for Global Energy Interconnection

Recruitment Overview

Global Energy Interconnection (GEI, IF 3.9) plans to recruit a group of outstanding young scholars with high academic competence, active research engagement and global vision to form an Early Career Editorial Board. Early Career Editorial Board Members will participate in peer review of cutting-edge technical manuscripts and special topic planning in depth, and enjoy priority for publishing high-quality research outputs. The journals will forge ahead together with all Early Career Editorial Board Members, build a supporting platform for their academic development, and contribute to technological innovation in the energy and power sector.

We plan to recruit 40 to 50 Early Career Editorial Board Members for Global Energy Interconnection. Target research areas cover energy and power technological innovation, infrastructure interconnection, clean energy development and utilization, smart grid research and practice, and climate change mitigation.

Recruitment Requirements

1. Academic Degree & Professional Title: Hold a doctoral degree and an associate senior or higher professional title.

2. Academic Achievements: Candidates with active research performance in relevant fields, publications in top-tier journals, familiarity with journal workflows and outstanding research capabilities are preferred.

3. Recognition of the journals' development philosophy, and willingness to engage in peer review, manuscript solicitation and academic promotion.

Entitlements for Early Career Editorial Board Members

1. An official appointment certificate will be issued for a three-year term, with renewal available upon assessment.

2. Authorized peer review access and targeted support for special topic manuscript solicitation. Manuscripts submitted or recommended by Early Career Editorial Board Members will be eligible for the fast-track publication process after passing peer review.

3. Personal and team research achievements will be promoted via the official WeChat account and website of the journals to enhance academic influence.

4. Free access to all academic events hosted by the journals.

5. Outstanding members will be prioritized for admission to the formal editorial boards of Journal of Global Energy Interconnection and Global Energy Interconnection upon term completion.

Responsibilities of Early Career Editorial Board Members

1. Peer Review: Complete more than 10 manuscript reviews during the term with professional and timely review comments.

2. Manuscript Solicitation: Publish or recommend no less than one high-quality manuscript annually, or participate in planning one special column throughout the term.

3. Academic Promotion: Promote the journals at academic conferences and in research collaborations, and assist in expanding high-quality manuscript sources.

4. Undertake other work conducive to the development of Global Energy Interconnection Chinese and English journals.

Journal Introduction

Launched in January 2018, Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) is indexed by multiple domestic and international databases including ESCI (JCR Q2), EI, CSCD, Chinese Science and Technology Core, Scopus, INSPEC and DOAJ. GEI publishes original research on theories and developments as well practical applications on principles of large-scale low carbon energy generation, transmission, distribution & storage technologies, global energy interconnection & system developments, global energy policy and energy market operations, global climate changes & environmental impacts, global energy transition strategies and global energy governance.
