Call for Applications: Master of Public Health (Global Health Track) at Wuhan University

Global health is being reshaped, with a growing expectation for China to contribute more to global health. If you are passionate about addressing global health challenges and fostering international health cooperation, Wuhan University's English-taught Master of Public Health (Global Health Track) is now open for applications, welcoming ambitious international students to embark on a transformative academic journey.
Known as "China's Most Beautiful University", Wuhan University ranked 122nd in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, 81st in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghai Ranking, and 186th in the QS World University Rankings 2025. The university has established cooperative relationships with 368 universities and scientific research institutions in 61 countries and regions. Its School of Public Health traces its roots to the 1950s and has grown into a leader in public health and preventive medicine with distinct disciplinary strengths and long-standing partnerships with universities and research institutions in the UK, Australia, Austria, Thailand, the Philippines, Brazil, Nepal, and beyond. The School established the Global Health Institute in 2011, launched undergraduate global health education in 2012, established the Department of Global Health in 2016, and launched the Global Health Research and Policy (GHRP) journal in 2016.
Designed for international students, this two-year professional master program aims to cultivate global health talents and support international health cooperation. The curriculum integrates theoretical exploration and practical experience, covering key areas such as international health cooperation, health system strengthening, global health governance, decolonizing global health, and equitable knowledge production and dissemination.
In the first year, students engage in full-time study of core and elective courses, including Modern Public Health, Epidemiology Ⅱ, Global Health Economics, and Health Diplomacy. The second year focuses on thesis completion and a compulsory six-month professional practice placement, with flexible options to work in China or return to students' home countries, supported by online faculty supervision. Students are expected not only to develop core global health competencies, but also to gain an in-depth understanding of China's health system, China's engagement in bilateral and multi-lateral health cooperation, and global health governance.
This program is designed and led by Professor Hao Li, Head of the Department of Global Health, School of Public Health, Wuhan University. He also serves as the Director of International Programs for the School, Vice Director of Global Health Institute, and Editor-in-Chief of Global Health Research and Policy (GHRP). Drawing on the networks of Wuhan University, the School, and the GHRP journal, reputable scholars and practitioners in China and abroad will be invited deliver lectures and teach classes.
