Special issue on Feature Reviews in Lightweight Materials and Manufacture

Introduction:

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue is designed to highlight review articles that contribute to the literature on state-of-the-art techniques in lightweight materials and manufacture, together with the open challenges, opportunities and applications in the field. The scope of this Special Issue includes all aspects of lightweight materials and manufacturing technologies.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation, manufacture and applications of lightweight materials, including light alloys and composite materials;
• Design and manufacture for lightweight components and structures;
• Additive manufacturing;
• Plasticity manufacturing technologies for material forming;
• Joining techniques for lightweight structures composed of similar and dissimilar materials;
• Non-traditional and high-performance machining;
• Other innovative material processing and manufacturing technologies;
• Other suitable topics.
