iOptics is an international high-impact open-access English journal focusing on the "integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and optics". It is sponsored by the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with Academician Jianyu Wang and Professor Xiaopeng Shao serving as Editors-in-Chief. The journal is scheduled to launch in July 2025 and will be published bimonthly.
The journal primarily reports cutting-edge research achievements in fundamental studies, technological innovations, and applications within the interdisciplinary field of "AI + Optics", aiming to establish a high-level academic exchange platform and promote high-quality development in related domains. Manuscript categories include: Review, Research Article, Editorial, Perspective, Spotlight, and Commentary. The subjects of papers include but are not limited to the below scope:
AI Optical Imaging: Computational imaging, super-resolution imaging, 3D imaging, spectral imaging, holographic imaging, high-speed imaging, terahertz imaging, intelligent optical navigation and remote sensing, underwater optical imaging, biomedical imaging, etc.
AI Photoelectric Fusion: Intelligent photonics, smart optoelectronic systems and devices (e.g., optoelectronic chips, topological photonic devices, dynamic photonic devices), ultrafast optics, photodetection/imaging devices, nonlinear optics and laser technologies (optical field manipulation), optical metasurfaces and metamaterials, etc.
