Editorial Board Member Recruiting

Published 16 January, 2024

To increase our engagement with the community at large, JAI is recruiting new Editorial Board Members (EBMs) to join us. This is a collaborative editorial model whereby Editorial Board Members assess manuscripts in their areas of expertise. We are now openly recruiting 15-20 EBMs from both domestic and international applicants. The term of appointment will last for three years, from February 2024 to February 2027.

Who are we looking for?

Successful candidates include:

(1) outstanding scholars under the age of 45 who are engaged in scientific research in the fields of automatic control and artificial intelligence and possess a doctoral degree;

(2) individuals with a proper academic attitude, interested in journal publishing, and willing and able to participate in journal work;

(3) those willing to actively contribute to the development and promotion of the journal in their areas of expertise, helping to advance the journal's progress.

What are the responsibilities?

You will work together with internal, professional editors to serve the community by assessing, selecting, and helping to improve the papers that the journal publishes. A key aspect of this is evaluating new submissions and managing the peer review process. As an EBM you are responsible for the scientific quality of the manuscripts that you handle. You adhere to the ethos, editorial standards, policies, and scope of the journal and ensure that manuscripts are handled efficiently and appropriately.

Moreover, an EBM for JAI should be willing to invite outstanding scholars to submit innovative research works to JAI, organize special issues, and participate in academic conferences hosted by JAI.

What would be the benefits?

(1) Formal letters of appointment with a three-year term will be provided to editorial board members, with the possibility of extension;

(2) High-quality papers submitted by the editorial board members themselves or recommended by them will be given priority for publication after peer review;

(3) Editorial board members will be invited to give talks or organize sessions at academic conferences hosted by the journal;

(4) Three “Best Associate Editor” awards will be issued to EBMs who contribute the most to JAI.

(5) More policies beneficial to the development of young scholars will be introduced in detail later in the editorial board meeting.

How to apply?

If you are interested in joining JAI as an Editorial Board Member and get ‘under the hood’ of the journal’s editorial process, please send your academic CV and a cover letter to the email address jai@cqu.edu.cn by January 22, 2024. The subject of the email should be 'JAI Editorial Board Application + Your Name + Research Area'.

We look forward to hearing from you.
