Call for Paper for Smart and Resilient Offshore Energy Hubs: Infrastructure for Renewable Power, Fuels, and Shipping
Published 16 October, 2026
Offshore renewable energy is moving from stand-alone generation assets toward integrated infrastructure that produces, stores and delivers electricity and clean fuels. This Special Issue seeks interdisciplinary research on smart, resilient offshore energy hubs linking wind, wave and solar resources with hydrogen and ammonia production, storage, transfer, bunkering and maritime use.
Topics of interest span infrastructure planning and optimisation, modular platforms, structural safety, multi-hazard resilience, digital twins and AI-enabled operations, vessel and port interfaces, lifecycle assessment, techno-economics, regulation and green shipping corridors. Contributions should advance practical, whole-system pathways for safe, scalable and low-carbon offshore energy infrastructure.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. Planning and optimisation of integrated offshore wind, wave and solar energy hubs;
2. Offshore hydrogen and ammonia production, storage, transfer and bunkering;
3. Modular offshore platforms, structural safety and reliability;
4. Multi-hazard resilience of offshore energy infrastructure;
5. Digital twins and AI-enabled operations and maintenance;
6. Vessel and port interfaces and green shipping corridors;
7. Lifecycle assessment, techno-economics and regulation for offshore energy hubs.
