Landscape Architecture and Sustainability (LAS) Invites Applications for Its Inaugural Young Editorial Board

To further enhance the academic standards and international influence of the journal, establish an academic exchange platform for young scholars, and cultivate a high-caliber reserve talent pool for the editorial board, Landscape Architecture and Sustainability (LAS) is now openly recruiting Young Editorial Board members from both domestic and international applicants. LAS is an English-language academic journal sponsored by Beijing Forestry University. Founded in 2025, with ISSN 3050-7324, it is published quarterly, implements a strict double-blind peer review system, and is openly available in Open Access format on the ScienceDirect platform. The journal focuses on innovative theories, policies, and engineering technologies in the fields of human settlements and landscape architecture planning, design, construction, and management under the concept of sustainable development, involving interdisciplinary areas such as urban and rural planning, architecture, environmental science, and landscape ecology.
We sincerely welcome outstanding young scholars in related fields to actively apply and jointly promote the high-quality development of the journal and advance frontier exploration in the discipline. Specific recruitment criteria and application methods are detailed below.
I. Recruitment Criteria
Engaged in work related to sustainability;
Possess a doctoral degree or a professional title of associate senior or above, with age generally not exceeding 40 (may be appropriately relaxed for exceptionally qualified candidates);
Have published high-level papers as first author or corresponding author within the past five years;
Possess an international perspective and strong academic organizational skills, with the ability to organize manuscript contributions, write articles, or plan special issues, and with access to international academic resources;
Be enthusiastic about journal work and concerned about journal development, with sufficient energy and time to participate in manuscript solicitation, peer review, and promotional work for the journal.
II. Responsibilities of Young Editorial Board Members (including but not limited to)
Manuscript solicitation: Invite and successfully publish at least 2 high-quality international manuscripts for the journal during the term of office.
Peer review: Actively participate in the journal's review work, or invite renowned scholars in related fields to serve as reviewers to ensure the academic quality of manuscripts; complete reviews of at least 2 manuscripts sent for review each year during the term of office.
Journal promotion: Actively disseminate the journal's published research achievements at academic conferences and other exchange activities, and pay attention to achievements related to the journal's research directions in personal academic publications, enhancing the impact of the journal's articles.
Other: Attend meetings of the journal's Young Editorial Board and related academic activities, and provide constructive suggestions for the journal's development.
III. Benefits for Young Editorial Board Members (including but not limited to)
Receive a Young Editorial Board appointment certificate, with a term of three years per session;
Participate in the journal's peer review work and the selection and organization of special issue topics;
Manuscripts written or recommended by Young Editorial Board members may enter a rapid review channel and be prioritized for publication after passing peer review;
Participate in the journal's annual Outstanding Young Editorial Board Member selection;
The research achievements of Young Editorial Board members and their teams can be comprehensively promoted through the journal's domestic and international promotional platforms;
Participate in academic exchange events hosted by the journal, gaining academic exposure and presentation opportunities.
