LAS Journal Signs MoU with the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA)
Published 06 May, 2026
On April 18, Landscape Architecture and Sustainability (LAS) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). The agreement was signed by Professor Zheng Xi, Editor-in-Chief of LAS and Dean of the School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University, and Professor Bruno Marques, President of IFLA. Mr. Li Rusheng, President of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, served as a witness to the ceremony.
According to the agreement, both parties will carry out systematic collaboration in the fields of academic publishing, professional knowledge dissemination, and global talent development, committed to building a complete knowledge ecosystem of "academic research — professional practice — global dissemination".
This partnership defines the specific responsibilities and joint actions of both parties in content curation, branding, global promotion, and joint initiatives. Under the agreement, IFLA and LAS Journal will establish a mutually empowering framework for collaboration. IFLA will provide content curation, calls for papers, and expert resource support for the LAS Journal based on the themes and outcomes of the IFLA World Congress, IFLA regional conferences, and 18 Working Programmes. At the same time, IFLA will leverage its global network covering 82 countries and regions to comprehensively promote the journal and its special issues, and will display the LAS Journal's brand logo on its official website. The LAS Journal, in turn, will grant IFLA the status of international partner, prominently display the IFLA brand and logo in its journal content, official website, and all IFLA-related publications, and publish peer-reviewed special issues focusing on the outcomes of the IFLA World Congress, regional conferences, and 18 Working Programmes, actively promoting them through its own academic networks.
The establishment of this strategic partnership will enable academic research to more effectively serve professional practice, while also promoting the continuous feedback from professional practice into academic research, jointly contributing to global sustainable development and the improvement of human settlements.
