Artificial Photosynthesis Catalysts for Clean Energy
Published 22 February, 2023
Introduction:
Effective ways of solving the energy crisis and achieving carbon neutrality have been receiving global attention over the past decades. Clean energy technologies have emerged as promising solutions and ideal substitutes for traditional approaches. In particular, artificial photosynthesis, which can directly convert solar energy into chemical energy, is one of the most attractive and prospective strategies to produce clean energy. Furthermore, it shows remarkable advantages in terms of cost-effectiveness and mild operating conditions.
A crucial aspect in the development of artificial photosynthesis is the design and synthesis of excellent photocatalysts for efficient and highly selective clean energy production. Against that backdrop, this theme issue focuses on the synthesis of artificial photosynthesis catalysts and their application in clean energy production, including CO2 conversion, H2 production, biomass conversion and nitrogen fixation.
Topics Covered:
(List the subtopics covered in this themed issue)
- CO2 conversion
- Hydrogen energy
- Water splitting
- Biomass conversion
- Nitrogen fixation
