Special Issue on Innovations in Nanomedicine and Nanomedical Devices
Published 20 September, 2026
Advances in the fields of nanoscience and engineering have boosted the development of modern biomedicine, offering new opportunities for disease detection, therapeutic intervention, and translational medicine. Nanoscale strategies are continuously being explored to address unmet biomedical challenges, ranging from material innovation to biofunctional construction, disease intervention, biosafety assessment, and device fabrication. This Special Issue aims to bring together high-quality original research, reviews and perspectives across these interdisciplinary fields. We hope that this collection will inspire cross-field academic exchanges and innovative ideas, and facilitate the translation of fundamental nanomedicine discoveries toward practical biomedical application.
This Special Issue in Nano Biomedicine and Engineering (NBE) aims to provide a platform to showcase the recent progress and challenges in the field of nanomedicine and nanomedical devices. The scope of the collection is broad, including but not limited to:
- Novel nanobiomaterials for biomedical applications
- Advanced nanodiagnostic technologies
- Nano‑enabled therapeutics and drug‑delivery systems
- Pharmacological, toxicological, and metabolic assessment of nanoagents
- Micro‑nano engineering biomedical devices
- Clinical translation, industrialization, and ethical considerations of nanobiomedical products
