SMAT Talks - Oriental interface assembly of novel, hierarchical, functional mesoporous materials

Published 20 April, 2022

Abstract:

Functional mesoporous materials with multi-level architectures possess a variety of unique properties. These include high surface area, large pore channels and volume based on mesostructures, as well as abundant optical, electrical and magnetic properties based on inorganic nanomaterials. These unique properties show great potential for applications in catalysis, adsorption and separation, biomedicines, and energy conversion and storage, etc.

My group has developed a series of new synthesis approaches based on the oriented assembly strategy, including the confined micro-emulsion self-assembly, liquid-liquid bi-phase synthesis, evaporation-driven oriented/aggregation assembly, and interfacial dynamic migration strategy. Novel mesoporous nanomaterials with one-level and multi-level architectures can be well synthesised, such as core-shell, yolk-shell and multi-shell, film structures for silica. In this webinar, we will look at these in detail.
