Prof. Guoqing Zhang’s research focuses on glacier–lake interactions, glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs), climate change, and lake evolution across the Tibetan Plateau and High Mountain Asia. He integrates satellite remote sensing, field observations, UAV photogrammetry, numerical modelling, and geospatial analysis to investigate cryosphere–hydrosphere interactions and associated natural hazards. He has published more than 110 SCI-indexed papers, received over 15,000 citations on Google Scholar, authored six ESI Highly Cited Papers, and published in leading journals including Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, Nature Geoscience, Earth-Science Reviews, Remote Sensing of Environment, and Geophysical Research Letters.
