Meng Yao is a Full Professor in Molecular Ecology at Peking University, where she has worked since 2010. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Peking University, followed by a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental biology from the University of Michigan, USA. Her research applies environmental DNA (eDNA) technology to investigate a broad range of ecological questions, including biodiversity patterns, community assembly, food-web structure, environmental impacts, and paleoecosystem dynamics. She also devotes efforts to advancing methodological frameworks and developing innovative eDNA tools.
