Dr. Vitalii Zaginaev is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mountain Societies Research Institute (MSRI), University of Central Asia. With more than 15 years of experience, his research focuses on mountain hazards, natural hazard assessment, and risk reduction, including debris flows, GLOF, cryosphere change and flood modelling. His work combines field investigation, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and geospatial analysis to strengthen the resilience of mountain communities in Central Asia.
