Purpose of the Job
As the Publishing Support Manager, you will work closely with the Publishing Director and the publishers to contribute to the objectives of KeAi’s growing portfolio of Open Access journals. The purpose of the job is to support the quantitative and qualitative development KeAi’s proprietary titles as well as partnership journals.

Scope and Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of administrative support and editorial assistance to the Publishing Director and Publishers
  • Perform desk research and collect information on industry initiatives, competitor activities, Open Access policies, funding trends and mandates, etc. to support the Publishers with the strategic development of their portfolio’s and individual journals
  • Assist publishers to prepare annual and ad hoc journal reports by compiling data, undertaking web search, etc.
  • Prepare documents for internal and external editorial meetings as required
  • Handle routine society and journal correspondence on behalf of Publishers
  • In the absence of a Publisher, handle day-to-day journal business where appropriate (payments, meeting arrangements, filing etc.) by liaising with the Publishing Director and other colleagues as required


Functional and Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Excel and PowerPoint in particular
  • Electronic systems savvy
  • Ability to initiate and maintain multiple projects at the same time;
  • Good oral and written communication capabilities in English and Mandarin, business proficiency level
  • Proactive, energetic and flexible

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences

  • Undergraduate degree at minimum
  • Previous experience in a publishing or administrative position is a plus
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated; collaborative team player; results-driven
