Special Issue on Functional Nucleic Acids

Introduction:

This special issue focuses on functional nucleic acids (FNAs), synthetic nucleic acid aptamers and enzymes. The issue will feature recent advances in FNAs engineering and applications of FNAs as biosensors and analytical tools to detect and analyze important environmental, biochemical and agrochemical molecules.

The journal welcomes primary research papers, full reviews, minireviews and perspectives.

Topics include:

• Functional nucleic acids (FNAs) including aptamers, DNAzymes, ribozymes, aptzymes and riboswitches
• New methods for FNA engineering
• FNAs as analytical tools including biosensing, small-molecule detection, protein detection, viral and bacterial detection, analysis of agrochemicals.
• New analytical tools incorporating FNAs as molecular recognition elements, signal reporters or both.
