A tribute to Yiu‑Wing Mai, for his lifelong pioneering contributions to composite engineering

Introduction:

To celebrate the ongoing scientific leadership and contributions of Prof. Yiu‑Wing (Mi) Mai — a preeminent scholar in fracture mechanics, polymer nanocomposites and composite materials engineering — we invite high‑quality submissions to a Special Issue dedicated to his work and vision.

This Special Issue will bring together original research, authoritative reviews, and forward‑looking perspectives that align with Prof. Mai’s broad research themes: fracture and fatigue mechanics, polymer/nano‑reinforced composites, functional composite systems and processing/engineering applications. Collectively, these contributions will advance the research themes and help foster the next generation of progress in composite science and engineering.
