First International Conference on Advanced Nanocomposites (ICAN 2025) Successfully Concludes

From April 13 to 15, 2025, ICAN 2025, hosted by KeAi Publishing and organized by Zhengzhou University, was held in Zhengzhou, China. The conference brought together leading experts, researchers, and professionals from around the world to discuss the latest developments and trends in nanocomposite materials. Nearly 200 scholars participated in the event, representing countries such as Australia, the United States, Singapore, France, Germany, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, as well as regions including Hong Kong and Macau.

Opening Ceremony of the Conference

The conference welcomed a distinguished lineup of guests, including Prof. Liqun Zhang, President of Xi’an Jiaotong University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Profs. Jinsong Leng and Yuliang Zhao, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Zhonglin Wang, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Chun Hui Wang, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering; Mr. Chengwei Li, Party Secretary of Zhengzhou University; Prof. Chuntai Liu, Vice President of Zhengzhou University; and Ms. Hengjie Ma, General Manager of KeAi Publishing.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Chuntai Liu. Welcome addresses were delivered by Mr. Chengwei Li, Prof. Liqun Zhang, Ms. Hengjie Ma, and Prof. Jun Ma from the University of South Australia, who also served as the conference chair.

Ms. Hengjie Ma, General Manager of KeAi Publishing, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
Prof. Jinsong Leng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Prof. Tony McNally from the University of Warwick delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Prof. Zhonglin Wang, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Prof. Chun Hui Wang, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Prof. Dusan Losic from the University of Adelaide delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Prof. Yuliang Zhao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote speech at the conference.

Ten special awards were presented to 16 outstanding individuals.

During the conference, a board meeting of the journal Advanced Nanocomposites was also held. Ms. Miao (Monica) Wu, Publisher at KeAi Publishing, presented an overview of KeAi’s journal portfolio and delivered a development report on Advanced Nanocomposites. The meeting was attended by Prof. Liqun Zhang (Xi’an Jiaotong University), Honorary Editor-in-Chief; Prof. Jun Ma (University of South Australia), Editor-in-Chief; Prof. Dusan Losic (University of Adelaide) and Prof. Huiyu Liu (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Associate Editors; as well as editorial board members including Prof. Tony McNally (University of Warwick, UK), Prof. Tian Xia (University of California, Los Angeles), Prof. Jung-Il Song (Changwon National University, Korea), Prof. Hua Deng (Sichuan University), Prof. Ming Tian (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Prof. Guangming Chen (Shenzhen University), Prof. Longcheng Tang (Hangzhou Normal University), Prof. Yonglai Lu (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Prof. Han Zhang (University of Warwick, UK), Prof. Xuan Qin (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Prof. Yangyang Gao (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Prof. Fenghua Zhang (Harbin Institute of Technology), Prof. Yue'e Miao (Donghua University), Prof. Wei Fan (Jiangnan University), Prof. Sherif Gouda (Nazarbayev University), and Prof. Senshen Han (Shenyang Aerospace University). The participants engaged in in-depth discussions and contributed valuable insights for the journal’s future development.
