Special Issue on Brain Development and Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Published 21 May, 2026

Introduction:

Brain development is a precisely orchestrated process governed by intricate cellular, molecular, genomic, epigenomic, and environmental mechanisms. Disruptions to these tightly regulated pathways can lead to a broad spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, epilepsy, and related conditions.

Under the guest editorship of Professor Da Mi from Tsinghua University, this Special Issue of the Journal of Brain and Spine will feature the latest advances in brain development and its associated disorders. It aims to provide a forum for high-quality studies that deepen our understanding of developmental mechanisms, disease pathogenesis, innovative model systems, translational approaches, and emerging therapeutic strategies. Through this curated collection, the journal seeks to catalyze scholarly exchange and foster interdisciplinary dialogue at the dynamic interface of developmental neuroscience, disease biology, and clinical translation. We welcome submissions of original research articles, reviews, short communications, and perspectives.
