Associate Professor and PhD supervisor at the School of Ocean and Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Educational background includes a dual M.Sc. degree jointly awarded by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Aalto University, followed by a Ph.D. degree from Aalto University and several years of postdoctoral research at the same institution. Research interests are centered on polar ship and offshore engineering, with particular emphasis on sea ice mechanics and ice loads, performance and safety of polar ships and marine structures, data-driven modeling of ship–ice interaction, and polar navigation strategies and route planning. More than 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers have been published in international journals and conference proceedings. These works have appeared in leading journals in the fields of polar ship and ocean engineering, including Ocean Engineering, Marine Structures, Applied Ocean Research. The published research primarily addresses sea ice mechanics, ice–structure interaction, ship performance in ice-covered waters, and advanced data-driven approaches for polar marine structures.
